Communication plan for surgery and post-surgery/KPSI radio show
Hi all,
I have been thinking about how best to be able to communicate with everyone about my progress and the surgery becuase there are so many amazingly wonderful people that are praying for me and just showing love in such kind and remarkable ways.
Mostly, I'll communicate through the blog. It's just the easiest thing to do because the internet connection where I'll be is just dial up and I'm not going to have a lot of mobility anyway. So, here's the scoop by media, so to speak....
Blog.....
Debbi Geyer has offered to update my blog with the info that comes from my mom about my progress from surgery. We'll aim for daily updates at first and see how it goes.
E-mail....
I'm not going to be able to respond to e-mail or even retreive it while I'm there. You are welcome to send me a note, but I won't be able to read it until I get back. You can always post comments to the blog in lieu of an e-mail. Just click the "comment" link at the bottom of a post to do that.
Visitors....
I appreciate your love and support and think that it would be better if I did not have visitors while I'm recuperating in LA. It will help me to just focus on recovery.
Letters/cards....
You can contact Karen Pendleton at karenpendleton@hotmail.com
and she'll let you know the address.
Phone calls....
If you need to get a hold of me, you can contact Glynis and she'll get in touch with me. Otherwise you are welcome to leave a message for me on my cell phone but I may not be able to get back to you. Definitely not for the first week at all.
Hope that works for all of you. I tried to keep it as simple as possible, so stay tuned and I'll be in touch. I leave on Monday but will post again before I leave.
Tune in to KPSI tomorrow (Saturday) at 10am for a radio show about breast cancer. Elli Tourje has invited me to be among a panel of guests for discussion on this topic. cool, huh?
